How CuraWeight's answers are made

Cura, the CuraWeight companion, answers health questions from a library of health information built from sources like FDA drug labels, medical guidelines and published studies, together with what you log in the app. Dr. Amandeep Kahal, an obesity medicine doctor and co-founder, reviews, tests and approves the clinical guidance Cura draws from, and Cura does not diagnose you and leaves dose decisions to you and your prescriber.

Where the health information comes from

CuraWeight keeps a library of short health passages. Each passage lists the outside sources it is built from, such as the FDA-approved labels for weight-loss medicines, guidelines from medical groups, and published studies.

When you ask Cura a question, it looks for the passages that match your question and your medicine, and it answers from those.

Who checks the library

Dr. Amandeep Kahal is a co-founder and CuraWeight's Chief Medical Advisor. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She reviews, tests and approves the clinical guidance Cura draws from.

What Cura knows about you

Cura uses what you share in the app: your medication and dose if you take one, and what you log, like meals, water, weight and how you feel. That is why the same question can get a different answer on a different day.

What Cura will not do

How it is different from a general chatbot

A general chatbot can look things up on the internet. It does not know your medicine, your dose or what you logged today unless you tell it.

Cura answers from its own health library and from your log. It can log a meal, water or a symptom right from the chat, check back with you later, and help you get your questions ready for your next visit.

What this page is not

This page explains how the app works. It is not medical advice. Your provider knows your health best.
